A run failed

A failed run is not lost work. Its page says what stopped it, and you can often continue from that step or fix the workflow in your chat.

Open the run from Action items or from the tab Runs of its workflow. The card Result says what stopped the run and at which step. The card Steps shows what each step did. The card What next says what you can do.

When the cause is gone (for example, you connected the account again), press Retry from where it stopped. The steps that were done stay done. When the run already did real work, a dialog asks first: press Confirm and retry.

Run again starts a new run with the same inputs.

Sometimes the cause is in the workflow itself, for example a step that expects data that no longer comes. Then:

  • In What next, copy the prompt that improves this workflow, and paste it into your chat.
  • Or choose Repair in an agent in the menu More. Toolscaled keeps the run open for your agent, and gives you a prompt to paste into your chat. Stop the repair ends it.

You can also ask your agent: “The last run of the Weekly summary workflow failed. Find out why and fix it.” The agent sees what the run did, step by step. When it publishes the fix, the next run uses it.
