Pause, limits and stop

Your agents use tokens on your own plan or account. Toolscaled sets no limit by itself: you set your own, and an administrator can pause every agent in the workspace.

An administrator opens Settings > Agents and presses Pause agents.

  • No agent takes a run in the workspace.
  • An agent that holds a run stops at its next step.
  • The runs go to Action items, which shows “Agents are paused” under Waiting.

To start them again, press Let agents take runs again. Every member sees the switch. Only an administrator can change it.

In Settings > Agents > Your limits, set limits on your own agents and press Save limits:

  • Runs a day
  • Tokens a day
  • Minutes a run

Leave a box empty for no limit. The limits cover all your agents together: Hermes, your Claude task and your ChatGPT task. A day is the last 24 hours.

  • Runs or tokens for the day reached → your agents take no more runs. They take runs again once the last 24 hours are under the limit.
  • Minutes of a run reached → the agent stops the run, and it comes back to you.

On the page of a run an agent holds, press Take it back. The agent stops, and you finish the run in your chat or by hand.

Agents stop taking a workflow’s runs after 3 runs in a row don’t finish. For an automation, they stop when fewer than 5 of its last 20 runs finished (counted once it has 10). New runs then come to you, and Action items shows Agents stopped taking runs under Went wrong. Once the cause is fixed, press Let agents take runs again on the workflow’s or the automation’s page.
